Totes! Totes! Totes!
If you totes heart totes (bags, that is), then you already have a whole collection of shoulder candy by the bril Sperber sisters at 31 Corn Lane. I’ve been crushing on them for the past gazillion years and I’m lucky enough to call one of Sperbs—the lovely and talented and insanely svelt Miss Teeter—my bestie. In step with our mutual admiration society, Teet has turned the Talented Lady Spotlight on lil’ ol’ ME this time around! I’m so excited, I’m kvelling!! Hoof it over to check out my musings on Paula Abdul, cats with bladder probs and, of course, gangsta rap. Woot woot! (Lil’ known fact: I was actually a tote model in my former…
Chit Chat And Emo Girl Talk
I can’t tell you how flattered I was when the lovely Martina Butler from the Emo Girl Talk podcast asked me to be on her show. I must’ve been blushing for a week straight! We gabbed all about how babe-a-licious Jesse Lacey is and the best way to break into the book biz. The interview is live and streaming so take a trip over there and hear me pretend to know what I’m talking about. In other news of self-promotion, one of my besties was in NYC last weekend and she sent me the most amazing pictures from Urban Outfitters. I mean, I knew they were selling Wish You Were Here online but I had…
Urban Outfitters Awesomeness
Great news, kiddies! Actually, it’s effing EXCITING news that deserve a bunch of exclamation points!!! The radtastic peeps at Urban Outfitters have started selling Wish You Were Here online. True story!! If any of your friends, family, enemies, frenemies or what-have-you have not ordered the book yet, you must tell them to hoof it over to Urban and add that sh*t to their shopping cart STAT! Do not pass “go!” Do not collect $100! I know I’m such a blog tease, but I SWEAR there’s a mondo post in the works. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye!! In the meantime, do yourself and listen to the song that’s totes…
Au Revoir, New York City
Thanks to my new fave airline Virgin America, I’m currently cruising over my least fave city (Kansas City, MO) at 35,000 feet while surfing the interweb. No, it’s true. I’m using the internet from space! Okay, I’m not exactly in space, but I’m super-high in the sky and that’s close enough for me. I just spent the last nine days in New York City, where I spent most of my time partaking in the following activities: 1. Pimping my book. Duh. How can I not? Today marks the month anniversary of Wish You Were Here‘s release. Looks like my book’s all grows up! I’ve pretty much being talking to anyone who’ll listen about my views…
Spanks For Coming!
Big ups to all my L.A. peeps who came to hear me read—and sweat profusely—at Book Soup tonight. Also, mucho spanks to Julia, Tyson and Charles at Book Soup for running such a radtastic event! They even interviewed my snarky butt on their podcast. Stay tuned for a post with that tasty ear candy!
Attention, Los Angeles Friends And Family
Do you like books? Do you like to hear people read books out loud? Do you like to hear people read books out loud at cuter-than-cute bookstores like Book Soup? If you answered “yes” to any of the above, you totes have to come out Tuesday, April 21 and hear me read from my newest book Wish You Were Here: An Essential Guide To Your Favorite Music Scenes—From Punk To Indie And Everything In Between. I’ll probably take the stage around 7 PM—and when I say “stage,” I mean “carpeted area in front of numerous folding chairs.” Try to get there early because you don’t want to miss out on the wine, snacks or pearls…
Your Daily Emo
Just had the bestest interview with the talented Don Edwards from Your Daily Emo. Little did I know thatI was appearing on the last episode of the show. What an honor! Fear not, emo fans. Don’s starting a new podcast called Diamond Boy’s Automatic Soundtrack, which should appear on iTunes in the next couple weeks. More deets can be found on Don’s blog. PS… You can also download the interview on iTunes, just in case you want to listen to my musings at your leisure. Just do a podcast search for “Your Daily Emo” and it will pop up as the “4/14/09” episode. Oh, and in case you were wondering, my voice isn’t really that…
