Mega-Post Coming Soon
Heavens to Paramore! It’s been a coon’s age since my last update. Expect a mondo post this weekend. Swears!! In the meantime…
Stars Hollow, Population 1
Monday started off with a bang when one of my longtime dreams came true—I visited Stars Hollow!!! And, to think, I didn’t even need to use any frequent flyer miles. Taking photos were a slight no-no, so I was super stealth about it. When I saw this glorious slab of cement, it was only fitting that I pour out a couple sips of my coffee for my fallen hommies from the Hollow. I mean, this parking space must’ve been empty since the show went off the air in 2007, right? So sad. If you look into the distance, you can totes see Miss Patty’s dance studio. To the right is Stars Hollow High School and…
Au Revoir, New York City
Thanks to my new fave airline Virgin America, I’m currently cruising over my least fave city (Kansas City, MO) at 35,000 feet while surfing the interweb. No, it’s true. I’m using the internet from space! Okay, I’m not exactly in space, but I’m super-high in the sky and that’s close enough for me. I just spent the last nine days in New York City, where I spent most of my time partaking in the following activities: 1. Pimping my book. Duh. How can I not? Today marks the month anniversary of Wish You Were Here‘s release. Looks like my book’s all grows up! I’ve pretty much being talking to anyone who’ll listen about my views…
Attention, Los Angeles Friends And Family
Do you like books? Do you like to hear people read books out loud? Do you like to hear people read books out loud at cuter-than-cute bookstores like Book Soup? If you answered “yes” to any of the above, you totes have to come out Tuesday, April 21 and hear me read from my newest book Wish You Were Here: An Essential Guide To Your Favorite Music Scenes—From Punk To Indie And Everything In Between. I’ll probably take the stage around 7 PM—and when I say “stage,” I mean “carpeted area in front of numerous folding chairs.” Try to get there early because you don’t want to miss out on the wine, snacks or pearls…
The Only Thing Missing From My Coffee Table Is Coffee
Coffee table? Where art thou? Great news for my L.A. peeps. I’m doing a reading of Wish You Were Here: An Essential Guide To Your Favorite Music Scenes—From Punk To Indie And Everything In Between at Book Soup on Tuesday, April 21. It starts at 7 PM and will go until one of two things happen: 1.) my throat gets so dry I can’t croak out another word 2.) I get tired of picturing everyone in their underwear and need to put on my shades Get all the deets here. Come by and say hi!
I Love L.A. — Not Really: Pt. 2
I just got back from dinner with the fam and I am totes stuffed to the gills. Food coma in effect, ya’ll. However, I couldn’t take a trip on the snooze cruise without updating my trusty website. It’s been waaaaay too long. Freals. Let’s see… What have I been up to? Mainly, I’ve been traveling. At the end of February, I flew back home to Cleveland to surprise my mom for her birthday. Although it was a short weekend, it was awesome to see the rents and my besties Bridget and Rachel. Four days after returning from C-Town, I hoofed it to NYC for a week of meetings before I met up with the Rockstar…
Come Tour L.A. With Me
So, as you prolly all know, I moved to L.A. about four months ago to come work at Buzznet.com. I left my beloved Cleveland skyline and moon boots behind for random sightings of Ashley Parker Angel at Trader Joes and the sunny skies of La-La Land. Bliss, right? Needless to say, it’s been a pretty huge transition, but I’m totes trying to make Hollywood my home. In an attempt to explore my hood, my awesome publishers at HarperCollins hooked me up with a Flip camera—that I, unfortunately, had to send back (nod, nod, wink, wink)—and I set out to capture some of the sights I wrote about in the Los Angeles chapter of Wish You…
